Studio to Market is the framework behind HomeMaking, and the program that will produce the cohorts and exhibitions that follow.

Studio to Market helps artists recognize the distinctiveness of their work, understand how viewers encounter it, and develop language that makes the work more legible without flattening its complexity.

Participating artists learn to observe the relationship between their work, their audience, and the contexts in which the work appears. They develop clearer language, stronger self-understanding, and public-facing materials that can support exhibitions, applications, websites, studio visits, and future opportunities.

The program treats visibility as an extension of artistic practice: a way of helping the work meet the world with greater clarity, confidence, and integrity.

Lisa Lowenstein

Lisa brings 30 years of experience as an international consultant to creatives, artists, creative businesses, and arts institutions. Her work focuses on helping creative people and organizations clarify their distinctiveness, strengthen their public-facing language, and develop strategy without losing the qualities that make the work their own.

Jerry Suggs brings experience in nonprofit administration, public education, cultural programming, and community partnership work. He is formerly Manager of Education, Programming and Partnerships at WaterFire, formerly a vice principal in the Providence School System, a women's basketball coach, and a New England Basketball Hall of Famer.
