Studio to Market helps artists recognize the distinctiveness of their work, understand how viewers encounter it, and develop language that makes the work more legible without changing its essence or flattening its complexity.
Participating artists learn to observe the relationship between their work, their audience, and the contexts in which the work appears. They develop clearer language, stronger self-understanding, and public-facing materials that can support exhibitions, applications, websites, studio visits, and future opportunities.
The program treats visibility as an extension of artistic practice: a way of helping the work meet the world with greater clarity, confidence, and integrity.

Homemaking: About the Show
Bringing together artists across generations, HomeMaking examines domestic space as a site of artistic inquiry, cultural memory, care, repair, ritual, and material intelligence.
The exhibition centers forms of labor and making long practiced in the home: work often uncompensated as labor, unchampioned as cultural production, and excluded from the category of art.
Works range across painting, photography, illustration, installation, performance, traditional domestic materials, and contemporary art practices.

Knit-In
Bring your own lap-sized knitting, crochet, stitching, or mending project and make together inside the exhibition.
Thursday, September 17 · 5–8 pm
Gallery Night
Providence Gallery Night at Ritual Spaces. Events TBD.
Saturday, September 19 · 1–5 pm
Bake Sale
A HomeMaking bake sale inside the gallery. 100% proceeds go to charity.
Saturday, September 26 · 3–4 pm
Artist Talks
Artists from the HomeMaking cohort in conversation. Gallery open 1–5 pm.
Saturday, October 3 · 7–10 pm
Costume Party · Closing
A Halloween-themed closing celebration on the final night of HomeMaking.
The gallery is open to visitors during all special events.
